NOTICE SimpleSaver Direct Load Control Participants

It has come to our attention that the digital thermostats that were installed as a part of the SimpleSaver Direct Load Control program may have a potential problem that could lead to overheating. At this time, there is no independent evidence this product creates a risk, but precautionary measures are being taken to remove the thermostats from all Clark Energy members’ homes and replace them with a programmable thermostat that is not used in the SimpleSaver program.

If you are a participant in this program and had a digital thermostat installed in lieu of the credit on your electric bill, please call 1-800-305-5493 and arrange to have the thermostat replaced. Technicians from GoodCents, who work on behalf of Clark Energy and other Kentucky cooperatives, will do the work. Or if you prefer, you can contact the HVAC contractor of your choice and have them replace the thermostat. To receive reimbursement for the new thermostat and installation, please bring the digital thermostat that was removed and a copy of your paid invoice to one of the Clark Energy offices in Winchester, Frenchburg, or Stanton.

Should you prefer to mail your thermostat and paid invoice, please send to:

Clark Energy Cooperative

Attn:  David Duvall

P.O. Box 748

Winchester, KY  40392-0748

Be sure to include the address that you wish the reimbursement to be sent to. A check will be processed and mailed to you within five business days of receipt of your thermostat and invoice whether in person or by mail.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may create for you, but safety is our primary concern.

If you have questions, please call David Duvall at 859-744-4251 or 1-800-992-3269.
