Air Source Heat Pump or Geothermal Heat Pump Retrofit

Making a selection on how to heat and cool your home when replacing an older system is a critical one.

Either a high-efficiency air-source heat pump or geothermal system is an excellent choice. In a single system, each source delivers heating and central cooling with added efficiency, performance, and savings when compared to older HVAC systems.

If you currently have an electric furnance, ceiling cable, or baseboard in your home and the heating system is 10 years old or older, you may qualify for a rebate of $500 when you replace it with a high efficiency air-source heat pump or geothermal system before December 31, 2010.

The replacement program is for both manufactured and stick-built homes. In manufactured housing, the air-source heat pump must have an ARI rating of 13.0 SEER/7.7 HSPF or higher. For stick built homes, the ARI rating must be 14.0 SEER/8.2 HSPF or higher. Installed geothermal systems have no required rating.
